What does music sound like in Hebrew?

Hebrew · עברית

Hebrew is the liturgical language of Jewish prayer, and its chant is one of the taproots of Ashkenazi music. The klezmer (כּלי־זמר) (פֿרייגיש) is known in Hebrew as Ahava Rabbah (אהבה רבה), after the prayer whose melody uses it, and the wordless devotional nigun (ניגון) carries a tune where words leave off.
